I make my penholders in my workshop in Italy. I primarily make penholders with plexiglass that I like to combine with marbled inlays, copper or brass inlays, gold leaf and many more materials. When I started making penholders there wasn’t anyone else making clear penholders so I tried using plexiglass and I remained fascinated by all the possibilities and looks that this beautiful material can offer.
I start my work by quickly sketching the pen I want to make so I cut my Plexiglass rod to length and I start working it on the lathe. Plexiglass compared to other materials is very dense and hard to work, this feature gives my penholders thier distinctive clearness and glossiness.
